Daniela’s collection, which she calls “Bound”, presents a personal exploration of her relationship with home, drawing on her nomadic Afrikaans heritage. Borrowing from the mechanisms of the cattle-drawn wagons used to transport her family and using materials native to South Africa, she crafts pieces from mopane wood, citrine stone and metal hardware. Her jewellery binds medium and design to commemorate the secure yet changing sense of belonging and the warm nostalgic feeling of travelling home.
